Church Covenant

Having been brought by divine grace to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to give up ourselves to Him, and having been baptized upon our profession of faith, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we do now solemnly and joyfully covenant with the members of Steadfast Community Church.

We commit, as one local body, to pray for, to preserve, to promote, and to strengthen our unity in the Spirit in the bond of peace.

We will not forsake the regular assembling of God’s people where we gather to sit under God’s Word, sing God’s Word, pray God’s Word, fellowship over God’s Word, and observe the ordinances.

We will, by Divine aid, deny ungodliness and worldly temptations through joyfully pursuing a holy life that reflects our newness in Christ.

We commit to having Christ at the center of our families through the guidance of His Word, and commitment to this local church. We will endeavor to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord for the purpose of evangelism and discipleship.

We will, by God’s grace, walk in Christian love for one another by bearing one another’s burdens, upholding unity, pursuing reconciliation, and exercising affectionate care.

We commit ourselves to evangelism, proclaiming the gospel to our family, friends, and local community and will do so alongside the ministry of this local church.

We will work for the continuance of God-glorifying ministry in this church, as we help sustain its worship, discipleship, and mission. We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the service of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the aid of the needy, and the spread of the Gospel to all nations.

We recognize our responsibility to submit and to come alongside the elders of this church, by cultivating a spirit of humility and teachability, acknowledging that this gracious order is designed by God to benefit His church.

We will, if we move from this local church, humbly and responsibly join another church that upholds the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
